Thai DJs on the WORLD PRIDE stage

MGUT2025.jpg

This is the first Thai DJ to perform on a world-class stage like World Pride. Let's give DJ TACKTHAI a big round of applause! “Being selected to go on stage like World Pride 2023, play the song on a large stage. There were over 20,000 people in attendance, presenting songs with a touch of Asia and my personality. It was an experience that I will never be able to erase from my memory. Especially when I received feedback from many people, even when I was on stage. and after work with people sending messages Tag me on their social media if you like the set of songs I play. It made me feel even better.”

Not only representing Thai DJs on the global stage, DJ TACKTHAI also has The DREAM Project, another important event that seeks to strengthen the techno music culture in Thailand. An event for techno music lovers and those who want to experience a new style of music to try again.

“Actually, I think every genre of music has its own artistic flair. But when I met techno music myself, I felt that it was very profound, both artistically. creativity It's like telling a story with music. So I want everyone to try to open their hearts to listen to techno music. Or maybe try to start with the work of The DREAM Project first.

Q: Tell us about your feelings on the day you were crowned Mr. Gay Universe Thailand 2025.

B: It exceeded my expectations so much. When we won the Best Pride Campaigns award, we thought it was the ultimate achievement. We had spoken about the Thai Red Cross, and receiving that award showed that the elders in society recognized the problem and were open to letting a younger generation like me push for solutions. Our small voices, combined, became a louder one. But then, the moment they announced Mr. Gay Universe Thailand “MGUT3 Bankpan Panupong,” I was completely stunned. I didn't know what to do. I turned around and saw Dr. Seree Wongmontha standing there waiting to present the award, and I impulsively ran and hugged him! (laughs) It was the happiest moment of my life. It represented everything about who I am, my unwavering self-worth, my pride in being gay, and the acceptance and value from my society, family, and those around me. That moment when I knelt down and bowed, that was a thank you more than any simple thank you. I wanted to thank everything that happened so much.

Q: You've already mentioned the Best Pride Campaign award. Could you tell us more about the campaign details?

B: The Best Pride Campaign award is very valuable to me because my goal isn't just to win the competition, but to participate in discussions and solve problems, and to change the laws regarding blood donation for LGBTQ+ individuals in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross Society. That's why I created the Empower Of Uniblood campaign to find solutions for the Thai Red Cross Society to open up opportunities and implement the FDA Solution principle in Thailand. This aims to eliminate social stigma that views gay people as a high-risk group for HIV infection, and to give LGBTQ+ individuals the right to donate blood, helping to save lives in society. I'm also about to start a podcast, Uniblood Thailand, to gather voices who have faced problems and proposed solutions in Thai society regarding the Thai Red Cross Society's refusal to accept blood from gay and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Q: I heard that Bank Phan was very serious about the campaign, and even after winning the position, he remained serious about it.

B: I have to say, we're more serious about this now. Because after we won the crown, what happened in Thailand was the issue of the Thai-Cambodian border. The Thai Red Cross Society needed a lot of blood, but I (the donor) couldn't donate blood due to their regulations. So, I volunteered with the Red Cross to work alongside the staff, from screening and separating blood types to the blood centrifugation process in the Red Cross laboratory. I also got to exchange perspectives with them on LGBTQ+ issues. I learned that the Red Cross itself has a broad and accepting mindset towards LGBTQ+ blood donations. This is a very good sign that we can push this forward together.

Q: Tell us about the new project, "Son of the Universe," that you're doing with your friends from the TOP 5 of the competition.

B: It all started with our fun and lively camaraderie (laughs). It's a coincidence that the TOP 5 have been really close since the competition. Like Bank and Pui (Surapui - Surachai Saengsuwan, 1st Runner-up Mr. Gay Universe Thailand 2025), Bank and Pui became close from the first photoshoot when we joined the group. Boy (Bakboy - Supakit Pothisida, 2nd Runner-up Mr. Gay Universe Thailand 2025) we met through Lek Davika. As for Mok Golf (Golf - Wechasat Ruangsopit, 4th Runner-up Mr. Gay Universe Thailand 2025), I secretly liked him. He seems very knowledgeable, and Bank really likes knowledgeable people; he's totally my type. Finally, Papa Tia (Tia - Pattawee Thanprasert, 3rd Runner-up Mr. Gay Universe Thailand 2025), I have to say, we're like soulmates. We understand each other just by looking into each other's eyes. We know each other's tastes and thoughts, but he might just have more life experience (laughs). I mean experience, not age (laughs). And the seniors wanted to cheer us on in India, so we came up with a project to do together. Because of our close friendship and desire to have fun, we formed the "Son of the Universe" gang, who will be touring the universe together. We'd appreciate it if kind sponsors could support us; please show us your love and support!
